Conductive Adhesive EEG Pastes & Creams
To provide a fast and efficient method for EEG (electroencephalographic) and PSG (polysomnography) measurements, we developed two EEG pastes, i.e., EEG-acp® (FDA and CE approved) and lic2® (CE approved). The main features of these EEG pastes are combining both adhesive and conductive properties in just one single paste. To give an overview here: In the classic term of application, you normally use one EEG paste as a conductive material and another adhesive item as adhesive material, such as Collodion, to fix the cup electrodes. A third component is then often needed to remove the first two. In our “2in1” system, we have both adhesive and conductive properties in the same paste in just one working step. On the one hand, this fundamental advantage provides more efficiency for the clinical staff by saving time in practice. On other hand, it provides more safety for patients as our pastes are skin-friendly and odorless. Other chemicals like Collodion have strong odor and are also flammable and require an additional remover.
lic2® electrode cream is recommended to be used for routine EEG (electroencephalography) and PSG (polysomnography) measurements, ranging from 20 minutes up to 10 hours. The low impedances of lic2® electrode cream ensures a high-quality EEG signal.
In addition, as a matter of fact, long-term electroencephalographic monitoring (LTM) becomes more and more important to gain more insights underlying neurological diseases such as epilepsy. LTM provides EEG recording over long periods of time (1 to 6 days) and is one the main diagnostic tools for epilepsy monitoring. However, long-term electroencephalographic monitoring (LTM) is also used in the intensive care unit, the operating room, and in the emergency department. EEG-acp® paste is especially developed based on the need for a highly skin-friendly paste with improved adhesive and conductive properties for long-term EEG monitoring.
Nasal Cannulas
We believe that signal sensitivity and signal stability are the two main features behind high-quality diagnostic devices. Armed with these insights, CNSAC® is focused on development and production of a range of nasal cannulas for adults, pediatrics and neonates for sleep diagnostics.
Our high-quality nasal cannulas are made of soft and skin compatible medical PVC. Soft nasal prongs provide maximum wearing comfort, especially for long wearing periods. All of our range of nasal cannulas for diagnostics come equipped with a Luer-Lock connection which offers a universally secure connection to your device. Our nasal cannulas are used for sleep studies (PSG, PG, Sleep Screening, HST, etc.) to measure respiratory flow, snoring and detect sleep apneas and hypopneas.
The main features of CNSAC® nasal cannulas can be summarized as:
- Innovative design
- Easy application
- Ensure greater patient comfort
- Universal Luer-Lock connection
- Compatible with most PSG systems
(Natus, Löwenstein, Somnomedics, Nihon Kohden, etc.)
Another innovative product is our new nasal/oral cannulas, which can be used instead of thermistors (thermal sensors) to detect obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Studies show that our nasal /oral cannulas provide reliable results to identify OSA and are more comfortable and cost-efficient than thermistors.
Everything we do is about developing better medical disposables for sleep diagnostics and neurology. Our main inspiration comes from our great customers, who help us every day and all the time to continuously improve our products. Thanks to this feedback and constant exchange with our customers: CNSAC® nasal and nasal/oral cannulas are the first choice for many sleep laboratories, clinics and hospitals in Germany and Europe. More than 500,000 patients are diagnosed with CNSAC® nasal and nasal/oral cannulas every year. We remain humble and are thankful for this great support and recognition.
EEG Electrodes & Cables
Electroencephalography (EEG) is a fundamental medical method to record electrical activities of our brain. The gained data help us to understand processes underlying neurological disorders. Common ones are epilepsy, brain tumors, head and spinal injuries, but also sleep disorders.
The quality of an EEG measurement depends on the quality of all the elements used, such as electrodes, amplifiers, recording systems, etc. However, the most sensitive and failure prone element in this chain is the electrode as transmitters of the brain’s electrical activity to the amplifiers.
CNSAC® is developing different types of EEG electrodes, depending on application form and area. The most common type of EEG electrodes is surface EEG cup electrodes which are divided in two main groups: Gold Cup EEG Electrodes (reusable) and Ag/AgCl Cup EEG Electrodes (silver/silver chloride; as both disposable and reusable). As the trends on the market are different, we produce both disposable and reusable cup electrodes. Disposable cup electrodes are very safe in terms of contamination risk and do not need cleaning and maintenance. The reusable ones can be used over a longer period of time (several months) and are therefore very sustainable and more cost-efficient in the long run. We also produce specific adhesive surface electrodes for sleep diagnostic and ECG such as PLM electrode, intercostal ECG electrodes and many others. Here we are focusing on improved adhesiveness and signal quality. We also develop customized sintered silver/silver chloride EEG electrodes.

Leading Edge Innovations
Developments in neurology and sleep medicine are full of new ideas with innovative solutions for treatment and diagnostic. Telemedicine and especially telediagnosis are our new challenge in the field of medical technology. These new developments require new support in form of medical disposables, such as electrodes, pastes, nasal cannulas, and customized CPAP adapters. Armed with years of experience in developing new medical disposables, combined with an optimized worldwide supply chain for raw materials, CNSAC® is able to offer a fast and cost-effective solution for our customers. We work very closely with our partners in a very defined time frame to enable a timely scheduled product launch.
Parallel to the development of customized products, we also prepare the relevant documents for product approval at different market (EU, USA, etc.) and strongly support our partners in term of regulatory affair issues (CE, 510(k), TGA, MFDS, etc.).
